{"id":22,"date":"2016-08-27T02:57:59","date_gmt":"2016-08-27T02:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hal-lore.com\/?p=22"},"modified":"2016-08-27T02:58:13","modified_gmt":"2016-08-27T02:58:13","slug":"figuring-it-all-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hal-lore.com\/?p=22","title":{"rendered":"Titles Are Hard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So after the heart-breaking discovery a few months ago that the title of the novel I&#8217;ve been working on since 7th grade, was\u00a0<em>already<\/em> taken&#8230;I did some plot-searching. \u00a0I legitimately was heartbroken, I felt like a piece of me had been taken away. But this also opened a door for me. Several doors, really. (Like &#8220;The Doors in the Dunes&#8221; ahahaha&#8230;well most of you probably won&#8217;t get that. Moving on.)<\/p>\n<p>I remember back when I came up with the&#8211;admittedly lame&#8211;title. I remember thinking of the plot for the story and going &#8220;Well now&#8230;where does this aspect from the title come in?&#8221; And I had to shoehorn something in that gave me a wonderful scene involving dragonfly poop but ultimately, didn&#8217;t really work and made the plot somewhat clich\u00e9, dragonfly poop notwithstanding. And so, I&#8217;m glad that that title is already taken. It allowed me to expand my world and ideas.<\/p>\n<p>I actually had a really good Sunday a couple of weeks ago where I think I came up with some pretty viable plot stuff. I&#8217;m excited for the day where I will actually sit down and finish the major plot stuff and get into the nitty-gritty.
